VEGAFLEX 63 for hygienic applications and corrosive media The plics instrument family now has a member that is particularly suitable for continuous level measurement in hygiene applications as well as corrosive and aggressive media: VEGAFLEX 63. The level sensor operates according to the guided microwave principle, also called TDR. The microwave signals are guided along a rod or cable and reflected when they hit the surface of the product. The running time of the microwave signal yields the distance to the product and thus the filling level. VEGAFLEX 63 has all the advantages this technique offers: simple mounting, straightforward setup (also without filling) and reliable measurement independent of product density. The maintenance-free sensor is insensitive to foam and build-up. With its PFA coating, the sensor is not only optimal for use in corrosive media but in hygienic applications as well. All materials that contact the medium are food safe. The sensor has approvals for the food and pharmaceutical industry and is suitable for CIP and SIP cleaning. VEGAFLEX 63 is also available with Ex and WHG approvals, depending on the requirements. As a member of the plics family, VEGAFLEX 63 combines all the advantages this sensor concept from VEGA has to offer: well-proven cable, rod and coaxial models, different housings and electronics versions and of course the customary easy setup and commissioning with the adjustment module PLICSCOM.
