New release of the successful, universal FDT adjustment tool PACTware 3.0 |
PACTware Update - Version 3.0 is available since December 2004
|
The new version 3.0 of PACTware, the open, manufacturer- and fieldbus-independent adjustment tool is available since December. Based on FDT technology, PACTware offers a standardised solution for integrating field instruments, communication components, remote I/O systems and interface components. The components are adjusted via their own drivers, the so-called DTMs. The DTMs describe the hardware completely and make adjustment functions available in graphical form. The revised PACTware, developed with the updated ".net" technology, will meet customer requirements more flexibly. Through the use of extension modules, so-called Add-ins, additional functions spanning the entire product range can be implemented. With Add-ins from VEGA Grieshaber KG, VEGA field instruments can be automatically detected by Bus-Scan and integrated in the project tree. If desired, the instruments can also be immediately set for online operation. By "interlacing" the respective DTMs within the PACTware project tree, complex communication structures can be recreated by the software. Access from the adjustment tool to the field instrument, indeed right on through to different bus structures and remote I/O systems is thus possible. It doesn't matter which systems are used, only the DTMs of the components are required. The number of FDT/DTM suppliers is growing continuously and, as a result, also the number of available DTMs. PACTware 3.0 offers special filter functions in its instrument catalogue to ensure clarity in DTM selection.
