Effective level measurement for large tanks with space-saving multisensor flange |
The multisensor flange - space saving and reliable measurement of tank content
|
The sensor program plics® from VEGA offers a uniform housing, indication and adjustment concept for all level and pressure sensors. plics® makes everything easier - from cost saving, right through to selecting, mounting and setup.
For large storage tanks, the compact sensor dimensions are an essential advantage for retrofitting with the latest measurement technology: All types of instruments can be mounted on a single flange, the so-called multisensor flange.
The continuous level measurement is carried out either by a radar or guided microwave instrument. One or two vibrating level switches provide reliable level detection. The tank pressure is monitored by means of a pressure transmitter. The DN 300 or 12" flange offers sufficient space beside all the other sensors to provide a hole for sounding or sampling.
The main advantage of this central mounting is economy: far lower cost compared with mounting on individual process fittings. And the setup procedure is greatly simplified: all sensors have the same reference point for adjustment. Moreover, the multisensor flange reduces the total installation costs of the sensors, including cabling and setup.
