VEGA Grieshaber KG, a world market leader in level, pressure and switching instrumentation, offers its tank measuring system as the ideal solution for logging tank contents on ships. The tank measuring system - a switching cabinet with sensor supply and signal processing as well as all necessary tank sensors - combines tried-and-true plics® sensor technology with intelligent measurement data processing.

The modular structure of the plics® sensor concept enables the connection of different measurement loops to the tank measuring system. Most modern modules for sensor power supply in Ex and non-Ex areas deliver level, pressure, switching, temperature or draught values.

Levels in cargo and service tanks are reliably detected and transferred to the on-board computer, absolutely independent of the ship type. The tank measuring system can be customised for any number of different measurement loops with cascadable switching cabinet components.

Digital bus connection guarantees faultless measured value transmission from the sensor on deck to the host system in the control room. The modern LC display with integrated keyboard clearly shows measured values and alarm messages as well as concise adjustment menus. Thanks to the digital output interfaces, the tank measuring system can be easily connected to existing data infrastructure on ships.

Optional GPS modem connections on the tank measuring system simplify maintenance and service of the instruments ashore and at sea.

Numerous ship approvals and the clearly defined interfaces for the centrally compiled measurement data ensure easy planning and operational safety for ship owners and shipyards.
