The 11th user seminar "Pulp and Paper Industry"

The 11^th user seminar "Pulp and Paper Industry" this year proved to be a tremendous success. 30 participants joined the seminar at VEGA, in Schiltach, November 15^th and 16^th, 2007. They used the opportunity to get informed about measurement technology and new products for the paper industry from VEGA.

At the focal point of the seminar were the radar sensors VEGAPULS 67 and 68 as well as the pressure transmitter VEGABAR 54. VEGAPULS 67 is the solution for non-contact level measurement in ash and starch silos and VEGAPULS 68 the ideal solution in bleaching towers. VEGABAR 54, with its small ceramic CERTEC measuring cell, is a byword for reliable, front-flush level and pressure measurement in vats and pipelines.
PLICSRADIO, a new product for wireless data transmission from remote measuring sites, was introduced.

Further interesting topics were the adjustment of sensors with PACTware as well as their integration into control systems. It was also demonstrated how various sub-processes of paper production can be simulated interactively with the computer program CAPS from the Paper Centre Gernsbach.
The seminar was rounded off with the presentation of typical applications and some particularly successful problem solutions, as well as discussions and exchange of experiences among industry colleagues.
