Fuel – nothing runs without it in cement production

The large quantities of energy needed to burn the clinker in the rotary kiln are becoming an ever greater cost factor in cement production. Alternative fuels, such as dried sewage sludge, old tires, waste oil and solvents, are increasingly being used besides conventional energy sources like gas, oil or coal. Harmful organic substances are completely destroyed by the very high temperatures up to 2000 °C (3632 °F) in the rotary kiln. Appropriate certifcations are necessary for the sensors being used to measure the levels of these media.

VEGAPULS 68 for all solid fuels

Non-contact radar technology is also the ideal solution for level measurement of solid fuels. VEGAPULS 68 reliably measures the product surface without interference from the thick clouds of dust that are often generated. Different product characteristics also play no role in the measurement: whether in carcass meal or coal, VEGAPULS 68 always provides the correct level information.

Reliable level detection with VEGAWAVE 62

The VEGAWAVE 62 vibrating level switch is just the right thing for applications in which an additional overfll protection is necessary. Completely independent of product characteristics, the instrument signals the limit level in the container and thus guards reliably against overflling.

Reliable and exact – tank content measurement with VEGAPULS 62

In all level measuring tasks having to do with the storage of liquids, the radar sensor VEGAPULS 62 delivers very exact and reliable results. Regardless of the product and process conditions, this measurement technology provides detailed information on the fuel stockpiles to an accuracy of a few millimetres.

Hydrostatic level measurement with VEGABAR 65

Hydrostatic pressure measurement with VEGABAR 65 directly provides information about the weight of the fuel in the tank. To make inspection possible also when the vessel is full, the instrument is usually mounted together with a stop valve. The metallic measuring cell of the sensor ensures high chemical resistance in all kinds of products.

Level detection with VEGASWING 63

Independent of product characteristics, the vibrating level switch VEGASWING 63 provides reliable protection against overflling or dry running of pumps. With its diverse approvals it does justice to all requirements, whether WHG (Water Resource Act), ATEX or SIL2 – no wish is left unfulflled.
