Return sludge pumping station
Sludge is settled out in the basins of the sewage treatment plants, it is transported via pumping to sludge digester tanks. During this process, the pipeline pressure is monitored. Over the years detergents and additives have increased the occurence and amounts of "floating" sludge, previously rare in sedimentation tanks. Some of this sludge is pumped back into the activated sludge basin, whilst the rest of it is transported to the fermenation tower.

Pressure measurement using VEGABAR 64
The abrasive nature of sludge transported through the pipelines requires a measuring device of high abrasion and chemical resistance. The VEGABAR 64, with its flush ceramic CERTEC ® measuring cell is particularly suitable for pressure measurement under these harsh conditions, and is extremely abrasion resistant.

Dry run protection using VEGASWING 61
The compact size of the VEGASWING 61 level switch, combined with its tuning fork length of only 40 mm means that it can be installed almost anywhere along the pipeline. Overheating and damage to pumps is prevented as the rugged universal sensor provides a definite switch signal if the level within the pipe falls under a specified level.
