Making new out of old
The recycling of plastic windows yields raw material for the production of new high-quality windows. Whole plastic windows including glass, mountings, sealing and reinforcements are chopped into small pieces in the shredder. Afterwards, the metal, glass and rubber are sorted out with the help of special separators. The remaining chunks of PVC are then reduced to a uniform particle size in a cutting mill. This material is sorted according to colour and then granulated. The end product of this recycling process is a sorted, high-quality PVC granulate. It is stored in large mixing silos. These are equipped with mixing tubes that ensure thorough mixing of the grey-white PVC granulate. The content of the silo is registered via level measurement. The measurement data provides the basis for regulating production and distribution.
